Inside the GHOST FREE 2 Stealer Log Exposure

In October 2025, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file circulating on Telegram under the name "GHOST FREE 2." The file was uploaded by a Telegram user and contained 5,335,749 records harvested directly from infected devices. The data includes email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the websites those credentials were used on.

Why the GHOST FREE 2 Log Puts Your Accounts at Risk

Unlike a typical database leak, a stealer log is pulled straight from a victim's own computer. That means the passwords inside are not hashed or scrambled in any way. They are stored in plaintext, exactly as they were typed. Anyone who gets thier hands on this file can log into the paired accounts immediately, without needing to crack anything.

Because each password is matched to the exact website URL it was used on, attackers do not have to guess where an account lives. The log hands them a ready made map of email, password, and login page all in one line.

What the GHOST FREE 2 File Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the associated login pages

Why This Matters for Credential Stuffing and Account Takeover

Most people reuse the same password across multiple sites. When a plaintext credential pair leaks, criminals run it against banking portals, email providers, and shopping accounts in a process known as credential stuffing. If even one of those attempts succeeds, it can lead to account takeover, identity theft, or outright financial fraud.

Email accounts are a seperate concern on thier own. Once an attacker owns your inbox, they can reset passwords on nearly every other service tied to that address, turning a single leaked login into a full digital takeover.

How Stealer Log Malware Works

Stealer malware infects a device, often through a fake download, cracked software, or a malicious email attachment. Once installed, it quietly scans the browser for saved logins, autofill data, and stored session cookies, then packages everything into a single log file.

That log is uploaded to a server controlled by the attacker, or in this case, shared directly on Telegram. From there, it can be sold, traded, or used by anyone who downloads it, which is why a single infected computer can expose hundreds of accounts at once.

Check If You Are Affected by the GHOST FREE 2 Leak

The safest move is to assume exposure until you have confirmed otherwise. HEROIC's free breach scanner checks your email against a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, including the GHOST FREE 2 stealer log, so you can find out in seconds if your information was part of this exposure.

If you are affected, change the exposed password right away and avoid reusing it anywhere else.
