HEROIC researchers discovered this GODELESS CLOUD stealer log on July 21, 2023, after it was uploaded to a public Telegram channel. The file contained 9,751 records taken from compromised devices, each record including an email address, the account's plaintext password, and the URL of the website where those credentials were used. This particular upload is one of several GODELESS CLOUD packages that circulated on Telegram during this period.

Why This Leak Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords in a stealer log require no extra work from an attacker. There is nothing to decrypt or reverse engineer. The email address and password are right there, paired with the website they belong to. A criminal can start testing these credentials against other services within minutes of downloading the file, looking for accounts where the same password was reused.

What Was Exposed in the GODELESS CLOUD Leak

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords (fully readable, not encrypted)
  • URLs identifying which sites the credentials were used on

Why This Matters to Real People

When your password shows up in a stealer log, every other account that shares that password becomes vulnerible. Criminals run automated scripts that test stolen email and password pairs across banks, email providers, online shops, and social media platforms. Succsessful logins lead to drained accounts, stolen identities, and fraudulent purchases that can take months to sort out.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log is created by malware that secretly records what a user types and what their browser has saved. It commonly spreads through fake software downloads, cracked games, or phishing emails. After infection, the malware harvests browser-saved passwords, credentials typed into login forms, and the addresses of websites visited. Everything gets sent to the attacker's server and packaged into a log file. That file is then posted to Telegram or sold on underground forums.
