In April 2023, a stealer log dataset known as IN-INDIA-347PCS HEAVENLOGSCLOUD was uploaded to Telegram, exposing 9,028 records from devices located across India. The log was the product of an automated information-stealing malware campaign that silently harvested credentials from infected endpoints. The data includes email addresses paired with plaintext passwords and the URLs of every site the victims visited while the malware was active, creating a detailed map of each victim's online activity and digital identity.

Why This Is Dangerous

A dataset of 9,028 plaintext credentials targeting Indian users represents a significant threat. India is home to one of the world's largest populations of internet users, with millions accessing banking, government, and business services online daily. Attackers who obtain this log can immediately begin credential stuffing attacks against Indian banks, payment gateways, and popular web services. The URL data embedded in the log acts as a roadmap, telling attackers exactly which platforms each victim used most, allowing them to prioritize their attacks on the highest-value accounts. Many victims never recieve any warning that their credentials were stolen.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (sites and services accessed on infected devices)

Why This Matters

India's digital payments ecosystem and government service portals make Indian credentials particularly attractive to cybercriminals. Stealer log data from Indian endpoints often includes credentials for UPI-linked bank accounts, e-commerce accounts, and workplace email systems. When a single email adress and password pair grants access to a payment app or work system, the downstream damage can extend far beyond the individual victim to their employer or financial institution. Password reuse across seperate platforms amplifies the risk dramatically, allowing attackers to chain account takeovers across an entire digital life from a single stolen credential.

How Stealer Logs Work

Information stealers are a category of malware specifically engineered to harvest credentials without detection. They typically arrive via phishing emails disguised as invoices or shipping notifications, through malicious browser extensions, or bundled with cracked software downloaded from unofficial sources. Once active on a device, the malware reads saved passwords from Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, extracts session cookies that can bypass two-factor authentication, and captures clipboard data including cryptocurrency wallet keys. Everything is packaged into a compressed archive and transmitted to the attacker's infrastructure. The entire exfiltration process can occured in under a minute, long before any antivirus software detects the threat.

Check If You Are Affected
