On 21-Jun-2025, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log posted to Telegram by a user or group going by Kommander0. The file, described as a mail access collection, contained 24,047 records pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the mail login page each credential was captured from.

Why a Kommander0 Mail Leak Creates Chained Risk

Email access is different from a typical stolen password because it does not stop at one account. Whoever holds these 24,047 logins can open each inbox, search for old statements and receipts, and use the "forgot password" link on other sites to reset logins one after another.

This is what security teams call chained risk. One compromised mailbox can quietly unlock a banking app, a shopping account, and a social profile in sequence, without the victim noticing untill it is too late.

What Was Exposed in This Leak

  • Email addresses used for mail account access
  • Plaintext passwords stored with no encryption
  • URLs confirming the mail login page tied to each record

Why This Matters Beyond the Inbox

Most people treat their email as private, but it is really the backbone of their entire online identity. Attackers know this, which is why mail access dumps like Kommander0's are often more valuable to criminals than a password for a single retail site.

Once inside an inbox, an attacker can trigger password resets across dozens of seperate services, turning one leaked credential into a full chain of account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud.

How a Mail Access Stealer Log Like This Gets Built

Infostealer malware infects a device through a fake download, cracked software, or a malicious attachment, then scans the browser for saved logins, autofill entries, and open sessions, with a focus on webmail platforms.

The results are packaged into a single file and released under a handle like Kommander0, then uploaded to Telegram where it can be downloaded and reused by other criminals almost immediately.

Check If Your Mail Account Was Exposed

Because one leaked inbox can lead to many other broken accounts, it is worth checking this leak specifically rather than assuming your email is safe.

HEROIC's free breach scanner searches a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, including this Kommander0 mail access file, so you can find out in seconds and cut the chain before it starts.
