On June 16, 2025, a Telegram user uploaded a file called "MINTCLOUD_FREE_LOGS-ONLY FRESH 16.06.25" containing 34,739 records harvested from compromised endpoints by infostealer malware. Each record pairs an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the service it belongs to. That combination is precisely what attackers need to trigger a chain reaction: one stolen password, used across multiple platforms, can unlock email, then banking, then cloud storage, then social media, in rapid sequence. The MINTCLOUD dataset is large enough to affect tens of thousands of real individuals, and the fact that it was labeled "fresh" on the day of upload means the credentials were captured recently and are likely still active.

Why This Is Dangerous

The chained risk from a stealer log like MINTCLOUD is what makes it categorically more dangerous than a typical database breach. When attackers obtain plaintext passwords paired with email addresses, they do not stop at one account. They immediatley run those credentials through automated tools that test them against dozens of platforms simultaneously: Gmail, Outlook, PayPal, Amazon, Chase, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and hundreds more. Because most people reuse passwords across platforms, a single MINTCLOUD entry can cascade into a full account takeover chain. Gaining control of an email account is especially dangerous because it enables password resets on every other service linked to that address, effectively handing attackers the keys to a victim's entire digital life.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses from 34,739 compromised endpoint records
  • Plaintext passwords captured at the point of entry on infected devices
  • URLs identifying the specific services and platforms associated with each credential
  • API host data revealing backend service connections and developer tool access points

Why This Matters

The scale of the MINTCLOUD leak, at nearly 35,000 records haversted from fresh endpoints, places it among the more significant individual stealer log uploads of 2025. The URL data is particularly enabling for chained attacks: attackers can see throught the data which financial institutions, email providers, and business tools each victim uses, and sequence their takeover attempts accordingly. A victim who banks with a specific institution and uses that same email and password for their account will find both compromised within minutes. Password managers, cloud backup services, and corporate VPN credentials are equally at risk if the same password was in use at the time the malware ran on the victim's device.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware infiltrates devices through phishing emails, trojanized software packages, and malicious browser extensions. Once active, it silently captures every password entered or stored in the browser, along with session cookies and saved autofill data. These credentials are packaged into structured log files and sent to attacker-controlled Telegram channels or command-and-control servers. The MINTCLOUD upload was distributed as a free sample, a standard tactic used by infostealer operators to advertise the quality of their harvested data and attract subscribers willing to pay for larger, premium credential dumps.

Check If You Are Affected

The chained account takeover risk from the MINTCLOUD leak means that even if you do not recognize the source name, your credentials may have been captured by the same infostealer malware. HEROIC's free identity scanner checks across more than 400 billion exposed records, including fresh stealer log collections like MINTCLOUD. Run a free scan now to find out whether your email and passwords have been compromised and get specific guidance on which accounts to lock down before attackers can exploit the chain reaction.
