The DaisyCloud July Cluster Escalates: Volume Nearly Doubles
The July 18, 2024 DaisyCloud upload -- 9,678 plaintext endpoint credentials -- was the fourth upload in the July cluster and the first to break out of the 4,000-5,000 record range that characterized the opening days. The near-doubling in volume compared to the July 16 upload (4,049) signals a new phase within the July campaign: the operator had apparently processed a larger batch of logs from a more productive infection pool, and was now distributing at a rate approaching the mid-range volumes of the original June cluster.

Volume Escalation as a Campaign Maturation Indicator
In stealer log campaigns that use ongoing malware deployment rather than a single-wave infection event, volume escalation across early uploads often reflects the malware reaching additional endpoints over time. An initial deployment might infect a core set of endpoints immediately, with subsequent infections accumulating as the malware spreads through shared networks, phishing links, or compromised software packages. The DaisyCloud July cluster's escalating pattern -- from roughly 4,000 records in mid-July to nearly 10,000 by July 18 -- is consistent with this spreading infection model.
The contrast with the June cluster is also instructive. The June campaign peaked at 17,069 records (June 20) before declining. The July cluster appeared to be following a similar buildup arc -- suggesting the operator was deploying fresh malware batches and allowing time for infections to accumulate before distributing the resulting logs. What came next (a 132,246-record upload) would dwarf anything in the June phase entirely.
Gap Days in Stealer Log Campaigns: What July 17 Suggests
The apparent absence of a July 17 upload between the July 16 (4,049) and July 18 (9,678) batches is typical of stealer log campaign operations. Operators don't always upload daily -- processing logs, sorting by target type, and managing Telegram distribution all take time. A single-day gap within a cluster is usually operationally insignificant. The resumption on July 18 with nearly twice the previous volume suggests the operator used July 17 to process a larger batch before distribution, or that a processing delay caused the volume accumulation seen in the July 18 release.
The Expanding DaisyCloud Victim Pool
The July 18 upload added another 9,678 individuals to the DaisyCloud breach ecosystem. When combined with all previous uploads through this point in the July cluster, the total compromised individuals from the DaisyCloud campaign exceeded 85,000. These are U.S.-based individuals whose endpoint credentials -- email addresses, plaintext passwords, service URLs, and API hosts -- were harvested by malware and distributed to Telegram subscribers who may include credential stuffing operators, identity thieves, and enterprise intrusion specialists. And the campain still had several more uploads to go.
