Pharmvestnik (Фармвестник)

We observed a data leak surfacing on May 18, 2022, originating from a Telegram channel. The exposed dataset pertains to Pharmvestnik (Фармвестник), a Russian entity focused on the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. What struck us was the relatively straightforward nature of the compromised information, primarily consisting of user credentials and associated metadata. While the volume of affected records is not exceptionally large, the potential for credential stuffing attacks against related services remains a significant concern given the inclusion of email addresses and password hashes.

The breach, identified as a database compromise, resulted in the exposure of 38,431 user records. The leaked data types include Email Address, Username, and Password Hash (specifically MD5). While the description notes "dates," the precise nature of these dates (e.g., registration date, last login) is not detailed, but they are part of the exposed payload. The source structure indicates a direct database exfiltration, likely from a user account management table. The leak location was a public Telegram channel, which implies a lack of initial containment efforts by the threat actor once access was gained.

The Pharmvestnik leak did not appear to generate significant mainstream news coverage at the time of its discovery.
