HEROIC Found 1,914 Exposed Records in the prdscloud Stealer Log Breach

In August 2023, HEROIC researchers identified 1,914 compromised records tied to a stealer log file uploaded by a Telegram user. The dataset, sourced from a file labeled "Free logs from - prdscloud 5 100logs," contained endpoint credentials, email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs harvested from infected devices. The breach was verified and added to HEROIC's dark web intelligence database on May 7, 2026.

Why This Breach Is Dangerous

Stealer logs give attackers ready-to-use credential packages. Unlike data leaked from a hacked database, stealer log victims have already had malware running on their machines. That means attackers recieve not just a username and password but a full snapshot of the victim's browser sessions, saved credentials, and active URLs at the time of infection. Every recored in this dataset represents a device that was actively under attacker control.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords (unencrypted, immediately usable)
  • URLs visited or stored at the time of infection
  • Endpoint and API host information

Why This Matters

Plaintext passwords require zero cracking effort. Once a threat actor has your email and unencrypted password, they can attempt credential stuffing attacks across dozens of services in minutes. URL data reveals which sites the victim was logged into, letting attackers prioritize targets like banking portals, email providers, and corporate VPNs. The combination makes account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud significantly easier to carry out at scale.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

A stealer log breach begins when a victim unknowingly installs malware, often through a phishing email, a fake software download, or a malicious ad. Once on the device, the stealer silently harvests saved browser passwords, session cookies, autofill data, and the URLs of active or recently visited sites. This data is then sent to an attacker-controlled server and later packaged into log files that are sold or shared on dark web forums and Telegram channels. The prdscloud log was uploaded directly to Telegram, making it freely accessible to anyone with the link. Victims are often unaware their device was ever infected, making this type of breach seperate from and more insidious than traditional database leaks.
