SolarisCloud Breach Hits US Users: 6,382 Passwords Exposed
HEROIC analysts uncovered a stealer log file called SolarisCloud FREE, uploaded to a Telegram channel in February 2024. The file held 6,382 records, made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and website URLs, with the large majority of victims located in the United States. Being handed out for free made it especialy easy for attackers to grab a copy and start testing logins right away.
Why SolarisCloud Puts US Accounts at Risk
Because this stealer log is concentrated among users in the United States, it lines up neatly with American banking apps, retail accounts, and email providers that attackers already know how to target. A password stolen from a US based victim is far more useful to an attacker who is already familiar with US financial systems and login flows.
The passwords in this batch are also stored in plaintext, so there is no encryption standing between an attacker and a working login.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- Associated website URLs
Why a US Focused Leak Like This Matters
Credential stuffing attacks often target region specific services, meaning stolen US logins get tested first against US banks, tax platforms, and shopping sites where the payoff is highest. If a password was reused, an attacker can move quickly from one American account straight into another.
The end result is often the same familiar chain, account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud, but with US victims the fallout can hit sensitive systems like tax refunds and credit accounts particularly hard.
How the SolarisCloud Stealer Log Was Built
Stealer malware typically spreads through cracked software, fake browser updates, or pirated downloads that are popular worldwide, including across the United States. Once a device is infected, the malware quitely gathers saved passwords, autofill data, and cookies from the browser.
That data gets bundled into a file and shared for free on Telegram, which is exactly how SolarisCloud reached such a wide pool of attackers with almost no barrier to entry.
