In August 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file shared via Telegram under the name 15.07 that exposed 3,693 records containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the services users were actively logged into at the time of infection. The file was uploaded by an anonymous Telegram user and distributed to cybercriminal channels before being indexed in HEROIC's breach intelligence database.


Why the 15.07 Telegram Stealer Log Is a Direct Threat to Your Accounts

Plaintext passwords require zero effort to exploit. An attacker who downloads the 15.07 stealer log has a ready-to-use list of real email and password combinations. How the 15.07 Stealer Log Was Created

Stealer logs originate from infostealer malware infections. The malware, often delivered through phishing emails, cracked software downloads, or browser extension exploits, installs silently on a victim's device. It then monitors keystrokes, reads browser-saved credentials, and captures autofilled login data. Once the malware has gathered enough information, it compiles everything into a structured log file and transmits it to the attacker. That log is then shared on Telegram channels, dark web forums, or private criminal marketplaces. The victim recieved no notification and likely had no idea their credentials were compromised until it was too late.

Unlike database breaches where companies store data that gets stolen, stealer logs capture data directly from the user's own device. This makes them especially difficult to detect and particulary dangerous because the passwords are always in their current, usable form.
