637 Records Leaked in a Stealer Log Named "19"

HEROIC analysts found a stealer log file, simply named 19, uploaded by a Telegram user on 26 April 2024. Despite its small size, the file contained 637 records taken from infected computers, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the sites those credentials belong to.

Why This "19" Leak Is Dangerous

A smaller file does not mean smaller risk for the people in it. The passwords here are stored in plaintext, so anyone who opens the file can read a login and its matching URL immediately, with no cracking or guesswork involved. That means each of the 637 people in this leak has a working set of credentials sitting out in the open, ready for anyone who finds the file to try.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the sites the credentials were captured from

Why This Matters

If your email and password are among these 637 records, you are at direct risk of account takeover on the site the URL points to, and of credential stuffing if you have reused that password anywhere else. Because the file pairs each login with its exact source, an attacker does not need to search for where to use it, only try it, which puts affected accounts at risk the moment the file is discovered.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs come from malware planted on a device through things like pirated software, fake downloads, or malicious attachments. Once active, the malware quietly copies saved browser logins, autofill data, and session details, then compiles everything into a file. Even a small file like this one is typically pulled straight from real infections and then shared or sold on Telegram, putting genuine credentials into circulation.

Check If You Are Affected

Even a leak this size can put your accounts at risk, so it is worth a quick check. HEROIC's free breach scanner compares your email against more than 400 billion leaked records, giving you a fast answer on whether your information was part of this leak so you can secure your accounts.
