In July 2026, HEROIC's threat intelligence analysts identified a combolist uploaded to Telegram by an anonymous user, tracked as "44K_web.de_KurdishPy uploaded by a Telegram User." The file contains 43,016 records pairing email addresses, many tied to the German webmail provider web.de, with plaintext passwords and the URLs of the login pages those credentials open.

Why This Is Dangerous

An email account is rarely just an email account. It's usually the recovery point for banking apps, shopping accounts, and social media logins. Because the passwords in this file are stored in plaintext and paired with the exact login URL, an attacker doesn't need to crack anything to walk straight into one of these 43,016 accounts, and from there, potentially unlock everything connected to it.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs linked to each credential pair

Why This Matters

If your email address is one of these 43,016 records and you've reused that password anywhere else, one compromised inbox can chain into much more. An attacker who controls your email can reset passwords on your bank, social media, and shopping accounts using the "forgot password" link, turning a single leaked credential into a much larger identity theft or financial fraud problem.

How Combolist Leaks Work

A combolist bundles email and password pairs, typically formatted as email:password, often with the matching login URL attached so an attacker knows exactly where to try it. These lists are usually built from older breaches or malware that harvests saved browser logins, then labeled, packaged, and shared on platforms like Telegram, sometimes under a name tied to the person or group who compiled them.

Check If You Are Affected

If you use web.de or any other webmail provider, it's worth checking now. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches more than 400 billion exposed records, including this leak, so you can find out in seconds if your credentials are exposed and change them before an attacker chains their way into your other accounts.
