Our Analysts Found the 500 PCS FREE LOGS Dump on a Telegram Channel
HEROIC analysts identified a file called 500 PCS - 10.28.23 - FREE LOGS being distributed openly on a Telegram channel on October 27, 2023. The file contained 8,289 records taken from infected devices, each one including an email address, a plaintext password, and the URLs of sites that person had visited or logged into. The label "FREE LOGS" in the file name is deliberate: the person who uploaded it was broadcasting these credentials to as wide an audience of criminals as possible, inviting anyone to use them at no cost. This is one of the most aggressive ways stolen credentials circulate online.
Why the FREE LOGS Format Amplifies the Danger
When stolen credentials are sold privately, access is at least limited to buyers. When they are distributed as free logs, every person who stumbles across the Telegram channel gets a copy. The 8,289 people in this file have their exact email and password combination in the hands of an unknowable number of attackers. Because the passwords are in plaintext, there is nothing standing between those credentials and an open login page. Attackers use automated tools to test each email and password pair across hundreds of websites simultaneously, looking for anywhere the same combination was reused.
What Was Exposed in the 500 PCS Free Logs File
- Email addresses (the login identifier on most online accounts)
- Plaintext passwords (no encryption, no hashing, immediately usable)
- Website and API host URLs (showing which services each victim accessed)
Why Free Log Dumps Create Risks for Years Afterward
A file shared freely on Telegram in October 2023 does not disappear. It gets saved by every person who downloads it, re-uploaded to other channels, traded on dark web forums, and eventually incorporated into large composite credential databases. The 8,289 records in this file may now exist in dozens of copies across the internet. Anyone who had their credentials harvested and never changed their password is still exposed today. Account takeover, credential stuffing, identity theft, and financial fraud remain live threats for every person in this dataset as long as those passwords remain active.
How Stealer Logs Get Created and Shared on Telegram
The process begins with infostealer malware landing on someone's computer, usually through a phishing email, a fake software crack, or a malicious ad. The malware silently collects saved passwords, browsing history, and session cookies, then packages everything into a structured log file and uploads it to a server. The attacker then sorts through the logs or sells them in batches. Some attackers share logs freely on Telegram to build reputation or attract followers to their channels. The name of this file, referencing a specific date and "500 pieces," is a common format used by stealer log distributors to seperate their batches and market them to potential buyers or followers.
