697,079 records. That is how many logins showed up inside a stealer log dump called SunCloudNew, posted to a Telegram channel back in October 2025. HEROIC's team has been tracking the file since it surfaced, and the scale of it is worth pausing on before we get into what is actually inside.

Why This Is Dangerous

Unlike a corporate database breach where a company gets hacked and loses stored customer records, a stealer log comes straight from infected devices. Malware sitting on someone's computer quietly grabbed whatever their browser had saved, then packaged it all up for whoever was controlling it. The result is a file full of working, current logins rather than old passwords that might have already been changed. Attackers love this format because they don't have to guess wich site a password belongs to, it is already labeled for them.

What Was Exposed

The SunCloudNew dump, dated 16-Oct-2025, contains 697,079 records made up of:

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Password
  • URLs

Because the passwords were stored as plaintext rather than hashed, anyone who downloaded the file could recieve a ready-to-use login the moment they opened it.

Why This Matters

It is easy to think a leak like this only affects "other people," but with nearly 700,000 records in a single file, the odds that someone you know is in there are higher than most people would like to admit. If a person reused that same password anywhere else, the exposure spreads far beyond the one site listed next to it in the log.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer malware usually sneaks onto a device through a cracked software download, a fake update, or a booby trapped attachment. Once installed, it imediately starts scanning the browser for saved passwords, cookies, and autofill entries, bundling everything into a single log file. That file gets sent back to the attacker, who may sell it, trade it, or, as seems to have happened here, simply post it in a Telegram group for anyone to take.
