The BabaCloudLogs Leak Put 18,923 Passwords in Someone Else’s Hands
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log named BabaCloudLogs uploaded to a Telegram channel on September 13, 2025. The file contained 18,923 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL that password unlocks. That is nearly 19,000 sets of working login credentials sitting in a single file anyone in the channel could grab.
Why This Is Dangerous
Because the passwords are stored in plaintext, there is nothing standing between whoever has the file and the accounts inside it. No cracking, no guessing, just a direct email and password match ready to be tried against the exact site the URL points to. That turns a simple file download into instant access for thousands of accounts.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs tied to each set of credentials
Why This Matters
Stealer logs like BabaCloudLogs are the fuel for credential stuffing, where attackers run stolen email and password pairs against banks, email providers, and shopping sites in bulk. Reusing a password across multiple accounts is what turns a leak like this into account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud, since one exposed password can unlock far more than the original account it came from.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log comes from infostealer malware that quietly infects a device, often through a fake download, cracked software, or a phishing link. Once running, it copies saved passwords, autofill data, and browsing details straight from the device and bundles them into a text file. That file, in this case shared on Telegram under the name BabaCloudLogs, gave anyone in the channel instant access to 18,923 sets of credentials.
