On September 12, 2024, a stealer log package designated Private Satanic 10M ULP Part 2 Sept #8 by Satanic was uploaded to BreachForums. It arrived without announcement, one installment in a ten-part series of credential dumps that the same threat actor had been releasing methodically over the preceding weeks. The post contained approximately 10 million raw records; after deduplication, 2,862,244 unique credential pairs remained. Each record included a plaintext password -- meaning no cracking required for any attacker who obtained the file.

This is part of a 10-part series. See all related parts below in the Related Parts section.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs compiled from malware-infected machines are among the most actionable data types in the threat landscape. Unlike breaches where passwords are hashed, stealer logs capture credentials at the moment of entry -- exactly as the user typed them. Plaintext passwords require no additional processing before an attacker can attempt login at any service where the victim reused that credential. With nearly 3 million unique email-password pairs in this single installment, and nine other parts released simultaneously, the aggregate exposure from this series represents a significant credential stuffing threat.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Address -- direct login identifier across virtually every online service
  • Plaintext Password -- immediately usable without any decryption or cracking
  • HomePage URL -- reveals which websites the credentials belong to, enabling targeted account takeover

Why This Matters

  • Credential stuffing: Plaintext email-password pairs are loaded directly into automated tools that test them against banking, email, and e-commerce platforms at scale.
  • Account takeover: Attackers prioritize accounts where the same password is reused -- email accounts are especially valuable as they enable password reset chains across all linked services.
  • Identity theft: Access to email accounts unlocks a complete picture of a person's financial relationships, subscriptions, and personal contacts.
  • Cascading fraud: One compromised account frequently leads to others through password reset flows and connected apps.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs originate from information-stealing malware -- software secretly installed on a victim's computer, often through malicious email attachments, fake software downloads, or compromised websites. Once active, the malware silently harvests saved browser credentials, autofill data, and session cookies. This data is exfiltrated to an attacker-controlled server and compiled into structured log files called ULPs (URL:Login:Password files). These files are then sold on dark web markets or, as in this case, uploaded in bulk to hacking forums for broad distribution. The ten-part structure of this release suggests the actor processed and packaged a large stolen dataset in batches for maximum forum visibility.
