Researchers Find 5,295 Stolen Records in the Campaign Game Miniatures Breach
Researchers tracking dark web activity have recieved confirmation that a database belonging to Campaign Game Miniatures, a Spanish ecommerce retailer specializing in tabletop game miniatures, was leaked on breach forums in June 2022. The exposed dataset contained 5,295 customer records combining personal identifiers with password hashes, making it a potent resource for credential attacks.
What Attackers Can Do With This Data
With email addresses, full names, birthdays, IP addresses, and MD5 or bcrypt password hashes now accessable to threat actors, attackers can run credential stuffing campaigns against banking, retail, and gaming platforms. The combination of birthday and gender data also enables convincing social engineering and account recovery attacks.

Why This Breach Still Matters Today
Even with just over 5,000 records, this breach is partcularly dangerous because it bundles identity details with crackable MD5 hashes alongside stronger bcrypt hashes. Attackers prioritize MD5-hashed entries for rapid cracking, then pivot to reuse those passwords across other services where victims may have registered with the same credentials.
How Database Breaches Work
A database breach occurs when an attacker gains unauthorized access to a backend data store, typically by exploiting unpatched software vulnerabilities, weak administrative credentials, or SQL injection flaws in web applications. Once inside, the attacker exports structured records containing user account data. Smaller ecommerce platforms often run older content management systems with infrequent security updates, widening the attack surface considerably.
