Researchers Link CryptogoL12 Stealer Log to 26,921 Stolen Logins
CryptogoL12 9: Researchers Trace 26,921 Records to a Telegram Stealer Log
HEROIC analysts traced a stealer log file labeled "CryptogoL12 9" to a Telegram upload in August 2026. The file contained 26,921 records, each pairing an email address and plaintext password with the URL where the login was captured, credentials pulled straight from malware-infected devices.
Why This Is Dangerous
Unlike data lifted from an old database dump, stealer log entries reflect passwords that were active and working on the device at the exact moment it was infected. Because these passwords are stored in plaintext and matched to the specific URL each one was used on, an attacker can go straight from opening the file to attempting a real login on 26,921 different accounts.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs
Why This Matters
A batch of this size gives criminals enough volume to run large-scale credential stuffing campaigns, testing each pair against email providers, banking apps, and cryptocurrency platforms. Anyone in this file who reused a password elsewhere faces a real risk of account takeover, and any crypto-related account reached through these credentials could mean irreversible financial loss, since crypto transactions typically cannot be reversed once completed.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is generated by infostealer malware that infects a device, commonly through a cracked application, pirated game, or malicious download, then quietly copies saved browser passwords, session cookies, and autofill data before sending it to the attacker. Sellers often label these files with a name and batch number, as with "CryptogoL12 9" here, then distribute them on Telegram where buyers can quickly test the credentials for themselves.
Check If You Are Affected
