Telegram Users Targeted in the 2,147 Record CRYPTON_LOGS Leak
What We Found in the CRYPTON_LOGS 1 Stealer Log
In March 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log named "CRYPTON_LOGS 1" being uploaded and shared by a Telegram user. The file was first observed on March 31, 2023 and has been verified as authentic by HEROIC's threat intelligence team. In total, the log contains 2,147 records made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the websites those credentials unlock.
Why These Credentials Are Ready to Use
What makes a leak like this especially risky is the combination of email, plaintext password, and URL. Individually, none of those pieces is catastrophic. Together, they form a ready-made login: the site to attack, the username to use, and the password that opens the door, all in one line.
Data Exposed in the CRYPTON_LOGS 1 Log
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords, stored and leaked in unencrypted, readable form
- URLs showing exactly which website or service each login belongs to
Why 2,147 Stolen Logins Matter to You
The real danger of a leak like this is what happens next. Attackers buy and trade exposed credentials specifically to run them against other services through credential stuffing. Anyone who reused a leaked password elsewhere, on a bank, an email account, a shopping site, is exposed to account takeover, fraudulent purchases, or identity theft.
How Stealer Malware Built the CRYPTON_LOGS 1 Log
This kind of leak starts with infostealer malware infecting a victim's computer, usually through a cracked program, a fake update, or a malicious link. The malware then combs through the browser's saved login data and exports everything it finds into a log file. Those logs are commonly shared or sold through Telegram channels dedicated to trading stolen credentials.
