In December 2025, a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log file called CuckooLogsPublic-20251203 that exposed 142,967 records. The data included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs collected from devices infected with information-stealing malware. This wasn't a hack of a single website -- it was a bulk dump of credentials scraped off real user machines, compiled and then dropped publicly on Telegram for anyone to grab.

With 142,967 records in one file and passwords stored in plaintext, every affected person faces immediate account takeover risk on every service where they reused that password.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs distributed through Telegram are especially dangerous because the barrier to access them is almost zero. Anyone with a Telegram account and the right channel membership could have downloaded this file within hours of it being posted. That means this data isn't just in the hands of one sophisticated attacker -- it could be circulating among dozens or hundreds of bad actors right now. Combined with plaintext passwords and the URL field that reveals exactly which sites each victim was visiting, attackers have a ready-made hit list. They know your email, they know your password, and they know which accounts to target first.

From Breach to Fraud: The CuckooLogsPublic-20251203 Risk Chain

The path from stolen credentials to real financial damage moves fast with data like this:

  1. Credential stuffing: Bots immediately begin testing stolen email/password pairs against banking apps, email services, streaming platforms, and e-commerce sites.
  2. Account takeover: Once an attacker is inside your primary email, they issue password resets across every linked account.
  3. Financial fraud: Payment methods saved to compromised accounts are used for fraudulent purchaces or wire transfers.
  4. Lateral expansion: Corporate credentials found in the log allow attackers to pivot into workplace systems, VPNs, and internal tools.

What Is a Stealer Log and Why It Matters

A stealer log is a file created by infostealer malware -- malicious software designed to silently harvest credentials from an infected device. Infostealers typically spread through phishing links, fake software installers, or trojanized browser extentions. Once running, they extract saved passwords from Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, capture active session cookies, record clipboard data, and log any credentials typed into websites. All of this gets bundled into a structured log file and exfiltrated to the attacker. The result is a detailed snapshot of every online account the victim uses, with working credentials attached. That's why stealer logs are among the most valuable data types traded on cybercriminal markets.
