If You Reuse Passwords, the DAISY CLOUD Feb 117 Leak Should Worry You
HEROIC's security researchers identified the DAISY_CLOUD - 02 FEBRUARY - 117 PCS stealer log on February 2, 2023. The file was uploaded to a public Telegram channel by an anonymous user and contained 1,546 records. Each record included an email address, a plaintext password, and associated URLs captured from compromised endpoints. This is a direct product of infostealer malware, which silently harvests credentials from infected devices and makes them freely available to cybercriminals on Telegram.
Why the DAISY_CLOUD 117 PCS Breach Is Dangerous
What Was Exposed in This Stealer Log
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs (targeted endpoints and services)
Why This DAISY_CLOUD Data Puts You at Risk
Plaintext passwords require zero effort to use — every one of the 1,546 credentials in this log can be attempted against any online service immediately. The real danger for most users is password reuse: if you use the same password on multiple sites, one exposed credential can give attackers access to your email, banking accounts, or social media profiles. The URLs in the log reveal exactly which services were targeted, helping criminals prioritize their attacks.
How Stealer Logs Work
Infostealer malware spreads through phishing campaigns, malicious browser extensions, and trojanized downloads. Once installed on a device, it captures saved passwords, browser cookies, and session tokens without alerting the user. The data is then packaged into a log file and uploaded to a Telegram channel or dark web marketplace, where it is distributed to other criminals for account takeover campaigns.
