HEROIC analysts identified a combolist file uploaded to Telegram on 10 May 2026. The file contained 626 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords, along with associated URLs tied to the accounts. Although the dataset is small compared to major breaches, each record represents a working login that an attacker can try today.

Why This Is Dangerous

Because the passwords are stored in plaintext, no cracking or technical skill is required to use them. Anyone who obtains the file can pair each email address with its password and the site it belongs to, then attempt to log in directly. There is no barrier between having the data and using it.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated account URLs

Why This Matters

Reused passwords are the biggest risk here. Attackers take email and password pairs like these and test them across banking, email, and social media platforms in what is known as credential stuffing. A single successful login can lead to account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud, especially if the password is reused anywhere else.

How Combolist Leaks Work

A combolist is a compiled text file of email and password pairs gathered from prior breaches, phishing campaigns, or malware infections, then bundled together and shared or sold on platforms like Telegram. Building one does not require hacking a company directly. It simply requires collecting already-exposed credentials from multiple sources into a single, easy-to-use file, which is why these leaks can surface quickly and with little context about their origin.
