The Infinity Learn Hack Exposed 113,856 Student Accounts
HEROIC found the Infinity Learn Database breach dated April 2024, exposing 113,856 records including email addresses, phone numbers, password hashes, first names, last names, and birthdays from Infinity Learn, an Indian educational technology platform whose user database was extracted and distributed on criminal forums.
Why the Infinity Learn Breach Is Dangerous
Over 100,000 Indian students and learners had their personal data and bcrypt-hashed passwords exposed. Attackers can attempt offline cracking of bcrypt hashes and, if successful, gain access to Infinity Learn accounts. Combined with names, phone numbers, and birthdays, this data also enables targeted phishing and social engineering attacks against Indian education platform users.
What Was Exposed in the Infinity Learn Leak
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- Password hashes (bcrypt)
- First names
- Last names
- Birthdays
Why This Infinity Learn Data Puts You at Risk
Birthdays, full names, and phone numbers combined with a hashed password are enough to support identity theft and account recovery fraud. Even bcrypt-protected passwords become vulnerable if weak passwords were used. If you reused your Infinity Learn password elsewhere, those accounts are also at risk from attackers who successfully crack the hashes.
How Database Breaches Work
Database breaches occur when attackers gain unauthorized access to a company's data storage systems by exploiting software vulnerabilities, weak access controls, or misconfigured servers. Once inside, they extract user records in bulk and sell or publish the data on criminal forums. Education platforms are frequent targets because they often store rich personal profiles alongside account credentials.
