HEROIC analysts found a combolist called Just Hit Hotmail by SMF Hotmail Free Cloud, uploaded to a Telegram channel on January 22, 2025. The file contains 1,102 records pairing Hotmail email addresses with plaintext passwords and the URLs confirming each login works.

Why This Is Dangerous

Names like "just hit" are used by combolist sellers to advertise that the credentials are newly captured and unlikely to have been reset yet. Combined with plaintext passwords, that means these 1,102 Hotmail accounts can be accessed the moment someone opens the file, with no cracking or extra effort needed.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated URLs

Why This Matters

A Hotmail inbox is frequently the recovery point for banking, shopping, and social media accounts, so gaining access to just one can let an attacker reset passwords across several unrelated services. That domino effect is how a leak of this size turns into credential stuffing, account takeover, and financial fraud for the people affected.

How Combolists Work

A combolist bundles email or username and password pairs, often collected from stealer logs or older breaches, into a single file criminals can use right away. Sellers who market a list as "just hit" or freshly captured are signaling that the data has not had time to go stale, making the credentials more likely to still be valid than an older, previously circulated dump.

Check If You Are Affected

With 1,102 Hotmail accounts now exposed in this leak, checking your own exposure takes only a moment. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, including combolists like this one, to tell you instantly if your email has been compromised. If it has, change that password everywhere you have reused it and enable multi-factor authentication.
