In April 2023, a Telegram user shared a stealer log file labeled "Live 05.01," a batch name apparently referencing when the underlying malware infections were collected. The file contains 5,479 stolen records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the account it unlocks.

Why a Small Stealer Log Batch Still Poses a Real Risk

5,479 records is a modest number compared to some of the larger stealer logs circulating on Telegram, but size has little bearing on danger. Every entry in this file is a live, working login pulled directly from an infected device, not a guessed or recycled password list. Smaller batches like this one are often traded more quickly and cheaply among criminals precisely because they are fresh.

What Was Exposed in the "Live 05.01" Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the accounts each credential unlocks

Why This Matters Even at a Smaller Scale

Criminals don't need millions of records to cause damage, they need working ones. A single plaintext email and password pair from this batch is enough to attempt credential stuffing against banking, email, and shopping sites, or to hijack the exact account the URL points to. For the 5,479 people in this log, the risk of account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud is just as real as it would be in a far larger breach.

How "Live" Stealer Logs Like This Get Made

Batches labeled "live" typically mean the credentials were pulled from active, currently infected devices rather than an old archive. Infostealer malware sitting on a victim's computer, often installed through a cracked program or malicious download, quietly copies saved browser logins and sends them to the attacker in near real time. Those fresh credentials are then packaged into small dated batches, like "05.01," and distributed on Telegram before the victims even know their device is compromised.
