Logs_17 June Uploaded by a Telegram User Gives Hackers 812 Logins
HEROIC analysts found a stealer log file dated June 17, 2025, uploaded to a public Telegram channel two days later on June 19, 2025. The file, labeled Logs_17 June, contained 812 records made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the login pages those passwords unlock.
What Attackers Can Do With the Logs_17 June Data
Because the passwords in this file are stored in plaintext and matched directly to a URL, an attacker does not need to guess, crack, or decrypt anything. They can open the exact login page listed next to each email address and password and attempt to sign in immediately. That combination, a working password and the exact site it belongs to, is everything needed to drain an account, lock out the real owner, or pivot into other services tied to that same email.
What Was Exposed in the Logs_17 June Upload
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the affected login pages
Why This Matters Even for a Small Leak
812 records is small compared to headline breaches, but scale is not the only risk factor. Anyone whose credentials appear in this file faces the same threats as victims of much larger breaches: credential stuffing attacks that try the same email and password pair on other sites, account takeover, and follow-on identity theft if the compromised account holds personal or financial information. A single reused password is often all it takes.
How a Stealer Log Like Logs_17 June Gets Made
Stealer logs come from malware that infects a device, often through a fake download, cracked software, or a phishing link, then quietly reads and copies the passwords and site data saved in the victim's browser. That harvested information is bundled into a log file and shared or sold, frequently through Telegram channels exactly like the one where this file appeared. Because the data is pulled directly from an active browser, the passwords collected are typically the exact ones the victim was using at the time of infection.
