HEROIC Analysts Flag neverhode free Stealer Log Circulating Since July 2023

HEROIC's threat intelligence team has verified a stealer log dataset identified as neverhode free, which was shared via Telegram in July 2023. The dataset contains 4,255 records harvested from infected devices by information-stealing malware. The exposed data includes email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs -- a combination that gives attackers direct, ready-to-use access to the victims' online accounts.

Why This Is Dangerous

The neverhode free breach gives attackers everything they need to drain accounts and execute fraud at scale. With plaintext passwords matched to email addresses, threat actors can log directly into victims' inboxes, reset passwords on linked accounts, and gain access to banking, shopping, and cloud storage services. The URLs reveal which platforms each victim actively used, enabling attackers to prioritize high-value targets. Because these credentials were harvested at the device level, they were never hashed or encrypted -- they are immediately usable.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (active accounts and services)

Why This Matters

Plaintext password exposure is among the most severe categories of data breach. Unlike hashed passwords, these credentials require no cracking -- they are ready for immediate use in credential stuffing attacks, account takeover campaigns, and identity theft schemes. When an attacker controls your email account, they can trigger password resets on every other account you own. Financial fraud, social engineering against your contacts, and long-term identity theft all become possible from this single dataset.

How Stealer Logs Work

Information stealer malware infiltrates devices through phishing messages, cracked software, and malicious browser extensions. Once installed, the malware runs silently in the background, collecting saved passwords from browsers, active session cookies, API credentials, and a list of URLs the user has visited or logged into. This harvested data is packaged into structured log files and distributed to buyers or posted freely on dark web markets and Telegram channels. Because the data is captured live from the device, the passwords are always current and already in plaintext form.
