Our Analysts Found the OTTOMANGIFT OTTOHELP Stealer Log Circulating in Telegram Channels
In October 2023, HEROIC analysts monitoring underground Telegram channels identified a stealer log file being shared publicly under the label 15 OCTOBER 90PCS OTTOMANGIFT OTTOHELP. The file contained 61 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the site where that credential was used. While 61 records is a small number compared to bulk stealer log dumps, small targeted logs like this one are often more deliberate, compiled from specific services or communities rather than indiscriminate mass harvesting. The presence of names like OTTOMANGIFT and OTTOHELP in the filename suggests the logs may have been pulled from users of specific platforms or communities, making the exposure particularly personal for those affected.
Why This Is Dangerous
Small stealer log files are not less dangerous than large ones. In some ways they are more so, because they tend to be more targeted. An attacker who compiled 61 records from a specific community or platform has a high-quality list of active users with verified email addresses and working plaintext passwords. There is no need to crack or guess anything. These credentials can be fed directly into login automation tools and tested across dozens of services in minutes. The associated URLs tell the attacker exactly which platforms the victims use, allowing them to craft highly convincing phishing emails or focus their account takeover attempts on the most valuable services in the list.
What Was Exposed in the OTTOMANGIFT OTTOHELP Stealer Log
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs associated with the stolen credentials
Why This Matters
Even though this log contains only 61 records, every person in it faces real and immediate risk. Plaintext passwords combined with email addresses mean that credential stuffing, account takeover, and identity theft are all possible without any additional effort from an attacker. The URLs in the log provide context that makes targeted phishing and social engineering attacks much easier to execute convincingly. Once shared on Telegram, this kind of data gets passed between dozens of actors, resold, and incorporated into larger datasets, meaning the exposure compounds over time. If you recieve any suspicious login alerts or notice unrecognised account activity, this kind of stealer log dataset is a likely cause.
How Stealer Logs Work
Stealer logs like this one are created when infostealer malware successfully infects an endpoint device. The malware installs silently, often through a phishing link, a cracked software installer, or a malicious browser extension. Once running, it scans the device for saved passwords in browsers, autofill data, stored application credentials, and session cookies. All of this is packaged into a compact log file and transmitted automatically to the attacker. These logs are then sometimes traded privately, sometimes sold, and sometimes uploaded openly to Telegram channels where they circulate freely. The specific naming convention used here, including a date, a quantity count, and platform-style identifiers, is typical of organised stealer log distribution operations that label and sort their hauls methodically. Victims almost never know their credentials were stolen until they recieve an alert or notice unauthorised access.
