HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to a public Telegram channel on March 16, 2025. The log was tied to a compromised endpoint at IP address 223.204.194.88, geolocated to Thailand. It contained 82 records extracted from infected devices, with each entry combining an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the service where those credentials were used. This tightly structured data gives attackers everything they need to access victim accounts without any additional steps.

Why This Is Dangerous

Every one of the 82 records in this log is a ready-to-use credential set linked to a real account at a real web address. Because the passwords are in plaintext and paired with the exact URL where they work, an attacker can begin logging into those accounts immediately after downloading the file. This is especially dangerous when API credentials are involved, as a single compromised API token can give attackers access to business systems, cloud environments, or developer tools that connect to much larger networks.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs (service endpoints and API hosts)

Why This Matters

Stealer logs with plaintext passwords and service URLs are among the most actionable data types in the criminal underground. They enable credential stuffing, account takeover, and phishing attacks with minimal effort. If your email appears in this log, any account where you use the same password is at immediate risk. The fallout can include unauthorized access to email, social media, banking, and corporate systems. Identity theft and finacial fraud are common results, and the damage can spread quickly if the breached accounts have adminstrative privileges or access to payment information.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware runs silently on a victim's device after being installed through a phishing email, a fake software download, or a malicious advertisement. Once active, it records every username and password the victim enters and also extracts credentials saved in web browsers and applications. It captures the associated URLs too, creating a complete map of the victim's online accounts. This data is bundled into a log file and transmitted to the attacker, who then distributes it through Telegram channels or sells it on dark web marketplaces for other criminals to use.
