The EzineMart.com Leak Gave Hackers Everything Needed to Log In
The EzineMart.com Combolist Hands Attackers Ready-to-Use Logins
HEROIC analysts tracked a combolist tied to ezinemart.com uploaded to a Telegram channel on August 20, 2023. The file contains 20,399 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords and the URLs tied to each account. Because nothing in the file is encrypted, attackers do not need to do any additional work, they can start using the credentials the moment they download the file.
Why This Is Dangerous
With a working email, a working password, and the exact URL to use them on, an attacker has everything required to log into the account directly. There is no password cracking step, no guessing, no delay between obtaining the file and attempting a takeover.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses: the login identifiers, also useful for phishing campaigns.
- Plaintext Passwords: fully readable, functioning passwords.
- URLs: the exact login destination tied to each credential pair.
Why This Matters
Beyond the ezinemart.com account itself, attackers routinely take leaked credentials like these and run them through credential stuffing tools against banking sites, email providers, and social media platforms. If the password was reused anywhere else, this leak can quickly escalate from a minor inconvenience into identity theft or direct financial fraud.
How Attackers Use Combolists Like This One
Once a combolist like this is compiled, typically from older breaches or stealer log infections, it circulates through Telegram channels and dark web forums where criminals buy, sell, or trade it. From there, attackers automate login attempts across the URLs listed, harvest confirmed working accounts, and resell or use the confirmed set for further attacks.
