HEROIC Cybersecurity analysts identified 4,439 user records from Topserial.Online, a Russian streaming site operating at hd.topserial.online, exposed in a database breach that surfaced on February 3, 2025. The leaked dataset contained email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, and password hashes stored with the outdated MD5 algorithm.

Why This Streaming Site Breach Is Dangerous

This leak combines three high-risk fields: a crackable MD5 password, an email address, and an IP address that geolocates the user. For subscribers to an unlicensed streaming platform, the IP address adds a separate layer of exposure on top of the usual credential risk, tying a specific person to the site and to the device they used.

What Was Exposed in Topserial.Online

  • 4,439 user records from hd.topserial.online
  • Email addresses
  • Usernames
  • IP addresses
  • Password hashes stored as MD5

Why This Matters

MD5 hashes fall quickly to modern cracking rigs, so attackers will turn this list into a usable credential stuffing set within days. Victims who reused a Topserial password on email, banking, or social accounts face direct account takeover. The exposed IP addresses are also valuable for geo-targeted phishing, extortion attempts that reference the streaming site by name, and fraud investigations that lean on device fingerprinting.

How Database Breaches Hit Streaming Platforms

Unlicensed streaming sites typically run on low-budget infrastructure with minimal security review. SQL injection flaws, outdated admin panels, and weak hashing choices like MD5 are common. Once an attacker extracts the user table, the structured email-hash-IP records are trivial to parse, crack, and package for sale. From there the data circulates through dark web forums and Telegram channels used by credential stuffing and phishing operators.

Check If You Are Affected

HEROIC's DarkHive scanner indexes more than 400 billion exposed records, including the Topserial.Online dataset. Search your email to see if you were captured, rotate any password reused from that account, and enable multi-factor authentication on email, banking, and any service you care about keeping.
