Trident_Cloud_1 Leaked in July 2024. The Passwords Surfaced Now.
A stealer log file named Trident_Cloud_1 was uploaded to a Telegram channel on July 28, 2024. HEROIC analysts identified it since, and the file still contains 3,303 records pulled from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the accounts those credentials unlock.
Why This Is Dangerous
Time has not made this data any less usable. Each of these 3,303 records still pairs a plaintext password directly with the email address and web address it belongs to, and passwords that were valid when the log was created often stay valid long after, especially if the account owner never changed them. There is no encryption to break and no cracking required, just a working login sitting in the open.
What Was Exposed in the Trident_Cloud_1 Log
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the associated accounts and services
Why This Matters
With 3,303 plaintext password and email pairs exposed, anyone who reused one of these passwords elsewhere remains a target for credential stuffing against banking, email, or shopping accounts, whether the leak surfaces immediately or sits unnoticed for months. That kind of overlap is often all it takes to lead to account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud.
How This Stealer Log Was Created
A stealer log like Trident_Cloud_1 comes from malware that runs quietly on an infected device, collecting saved browser passwords, autofill data, and the web addresses tied to each login. The malware sends this information back to whoever controls it, and logs like this one are then commonly packaged and shared on Telegram channels, where they can circulate long before wider attention catches up to them.
