The Trident_Cloud_2 Leak Gave Hackers 4,154 Working Logins
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log dataset labeled "Trident_Cloud_2" uploaded to a public Telegram channel, tied to a leak date of December 24, 2024. The file contains 4,154 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the account it was used on. Whoever downloaded this file did not need to hack anything further, the working logins were already handed to them in plain text.
Why This Is Dangerous
With a matched email, password, and URL, an attacker can log directly into an account exactly as the real user would, with no need to guess a password or bypass any security question. Because the credentials were captured from infected devices rather than a company database, there is nothing standing between an attacker and access other than whether the password has since been changed.
What Was Exposed in the Trident_Cloud_2 Leak
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the accounts and services accessed
Why This Matters
With 4,154 working login pairs now available, attackers have everything they need to log into email accounts, test the same credentials against banking and shopping sites, and take over any account where the password was reused. Once an attacker controls a primary email address, they can reset passwords on nearly every other account tied to it, opening the door to identity theft and financial fraud.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is generated by information-stealing malware that infects a device through a malicious download, a cracked application, or a phishing link, then quietly copies every password saved in the browser along with the site it belongs to. Once enough data accumulates, the operator packages it into a log file and shares it, as happened here, on a Telegram channel where anyone can download the compromised credentials.
Check If You Are Affected
With 4,154 credentials from this leak already in circulation, it is worth checking your own exposure now. HEROIC's free breach scanner checks your email against a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, so you can find out quickly and change any compromised passwords before an attacker uses them first.
