HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file named Trident_Cloud that was uploaded to a Telegram channel on August 4, 2024. The file contains 2,691 records pulled from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the accounts those credentials unlock.

Why This Is Dangerous

Every one of these 2,691 records includes a plaintext password sitting right next to the email address and web address it belongs to. There is no encryption to break and no cracking required. Anyone who obtains this file can log straight into the affected accounts, which is a far more direct threat than a typical hashed password dump.

What Was Exposed in the Trident_Cloud Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the associated accounts and services

Why This Matters

A dataset of 2,691 records is small compared to headline breaches, but the risk per record is high. If anyone in this group reused their exposed password elsewhere, attackers can use it for credential stuffing against banking, email, or shopping accounts. That kind of password reuse is what typically turns a modest leak into account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud.

How This Stealer Log Was Created

A stealer log like Trident_Cloud comes from malware that runs quietly on an infected device, collecting saved browser passwords, autofill data, and the web addresses tied to each login. The malware sends this information back to whoever controls it, and logs like this one are then commonly packaged and shared on Telegram channels, exactly where HEROIC analysts found this file on August 4, 2024.
