The Trident_Cloud Leak Happened in 2024. 6,349 Records Just Surfaced.
HEROIC analysts traced a stealer log named Trident_Cloud back to November 23, 2024, but the file has only now surfaced on our monitoring of Telegram channels. Nearly a year passed between the original theft and its public circulation, and the 6,349 records inside are just as usable today as the day they were stolen. Each record pairs an email address with a plaintext password and the URL that password unlocks.
Why This Is Dangerous
Because the passwords are stored in plaintext, they do not need to be cracked or guessed. Anyone who now has access to Trident_Cloud can read each password directly, match it to the site it belongs to, and log in immediately. The delay between the original theft and public surfacing does not make the data any safer, it just means victims have had longer without knowing.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs tied to each set of credentials
Why This Matters
Old stealer logs like Trident_Cloud are still valuable to attackers because passwords often go unchanged for years. A dataset like this one feeds directly into credential stuffing, where stolen email and password pairs are tried across banks, email providers, and shopping sites. If any of the 6,349 people in this leak still use the same password today, they remain exposed to account takeover, identity theft, or financial fraud even though the original theft happened a year ago.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is produced by infostealer malware that infects a device through a fake download, cracked software, or a phishing link. Once active, it quietly copies saved passwords, autofill data, and browsing details, then bundles them into a file. That file, named Trident_Cloud, sat somewhere in circulation before reaching a Telegram channel where it became available to anyone, months after the original infection took place.
