The Trident_Cloud Leak: 6,446 Passwords Exposed. Yours Might Be One.
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log dataset called Trident_Cloud, uploaded to a Telegram channel with data leaked on 10 August 2024. The file exposes 6,446 records pulled from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the accounts those passwords unlock. Because the passwords are unencrypted, anyone who obtains this file can use them right away, with no cracking required.
Why This Is Dangerous
Every record in the Trident_Cloud file pairs a working email and password directly with the exact site or service it belongs to. That means an attacker does not have to guess where a stolen password might work. They can take any record from the file and log in immediately, and because the data was captured straight from an infected device, there is a strong chance the credentials still work.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the associated login pages and services
Why This Matters
Plaintext, ready-to-use credentials like these are exactly what fuels credential stuffing, where attackers test stolen email and password pairs against banking, email, and shopping accounts to see what still works. If any of the 6,446 people in this leak reused a password elsewhere, that single point of overlap can lead to account takeover, financial fraud, or identity theft.
How Stealer Log Breaches Work
A stealer log is not the product of a company being hacked. It is the output of malware quietly running on an individual's device, which copies saved browser passwords, autofill entries, and session data before packaging everything into a log file sent back to the attacker. Files like Trident_Cloud are commonly distributed through Telegram channels, where they can be bought, sold, or shared widely. Because the theft happens directly on the victim's device, the stolen credentials tend to be accurate and current at the time the log is shared.
