HEROIC analysts flagged a stealer log file uploaded to a public Telegram channel on November 4, 2023, distributed under the name "Usmancloud 37logs." The file exposed 1,728 records containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs -- data harvested from endpoints infected with infostealer malware. The inclusion of cloud service URLs alongside login credentials suggests many of the affected accounts belong to workers and individuals who rely on cloud-based tools, making this breach especially relevent to anyone who saves passwords in their browser or accesses work apps from a personal device.

Why This Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords are the most damaging type of credential leak because they require zero effort to exploit. Unlike hashed passwords, which need to be cracked before use, plaintext credentials can be copied directly into a login page. With cloud service URLs also present in this log, attackers have both the destination and the key -- they know exactly which platforms to target and already have the passwords to get in. A compromised cloud account can expose not just one person's data, but entire teams, shared drives, and customer records stored on those platforms.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (cloud platforms and services accessed from infected devices)

Why This Matters

Stealer logs that include cloud service URLs are a growing threat to both individuals and businesses. Once an attacker gains access to a cloud account, they can exfiltrate files, read private communications, reset other linked accounts, and lock the original owner out entirely. Credential stuffing tools allow criminals to test these stolen logins across dozens of platforms within seconds. Victims who reuse their passwords -- which most people do -- are at heightened risk of account takeover, identity theft, and financiel fraud across every service that shares those credentials.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

A stealer log is produced when infostealer malware runs on a victim's device. These programs are often disguised as free software, game cheats, or email attachments. Once installed, the malware records every password saved in the browser, every active login session, and every URL the user visits that requires authentication. That data is packaged into a log file and sent to the attacker -- or, as in this case, shared publicly on Telegram to be downloaded by anyone. The device owner typically has no idea the theft occured until they notice unauthorized activity in their accounts.
