HEROIC found that on April 1, 2022, a Stealer log file identified as berkerklogs was uploaded by a Telegram user, exposing 6,662 records containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs from the United States.

Why the berkerklogs Breach Is Dangerous

This file gives attackers 6,662 email and password pairs in plaintext with no decryption required. Credential stuffing tools can immediately begin testing each pair across banking sites, email providers, and subscription platforms. The URL data reveals exactly which services victims were logging into, allowing criminals to focus their attacks on the most financially rewarding accounts first and work outward from there.

What Was Exposed in the berkerklogs Leak

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs showing the services and login endpoints victims accessed

Why This berkerklogs Data Puts You at Risk

Stealer log credentials distributed via Telegram are picked up by criminal networks almost immediately. Anyone whose password appears in this file and who uses that same password on other accounts is at direct risk. A single credential match can give attackers access to an email inbox, which in turn lets them reset passwords on every linked service, from banking to cloud storage to shopping accounts, creating a cascade of account compromises.

How Stealer log Works

Stealer malware is typically embedded in pirated software packages, fake utility downloads, or phishing email attachments. After infecting a device, the malware quietly extracts every saved password, session cookie, and autofill credential from all installed browsers, then bundles the collected data into a structured log file. That file is posted to Telegram channels where criminals download and immediately start using the credentials.
