HEROIC analysts found a combolist labeled "X1758 HQ H0TMAIL" that a Telegram user uploaded on July 29, 2026. The file contains 1,739 records pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords, along with the URLs where each credential pair was meant to be used. The name indicates the list was tested against Hotmail accounts, and every password inside is stored without encryption.

Why This Is Dangerous

Nearly 1,740 working email and password combinations in a single file gives an attacker a substantial list to work through. Since the passwords are plaintext and tied specifically to webmail accounts, an attacker can move straight to testing logins, and from there to resetting passwords on any other service linked to that inbox.

What Was Exposed in the X1758 HQ H0TMAIL Leak

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs tied to each credential pair

Why This Matters

Webmail accounts like Hotmail are frequently the gateway to a person's other online accounts. Once an attacker logs into an email inbox using a leaked password, they can request password resets for banking, shopping, and social media accounts. This is a direct path from a simple combolist leak to full account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud.

How a Combolist Leak Works

A combolist pairs usernames or emails with passwords, usually gathered from earlier breaches, phishing pages, or malware that steals saved browser logins. Testing which pairs still work against a specific provider, as this file's name suggests, doesn't require hacking that provider. It only takes someone verifying stolen credentials and sharing the working ones, which is how X1758 HQ H0TMAIL ended up circulating on Telegram.
