HEROIC analysts spotted a stealer log titled "7Kk ULP" posted to a popular hacking forum on April 20, 2024, by the actor known as "firegoon." The log contained roughly 7 million total records, and after deduplication, it holds 604,661 unique email addresses, each paired with a plaintext password and the homepage URL where the credential was captured.

Why Plaintext Passwords in the 7Kk ULP Log Are So Dangerous

Every password in this log is stored in plaintext, meaning it appears exactly as the victim typed it, with no encryption to slow an attacker down. Combined with the homepage URL for each entry, criminals know precisely which site a password unlocks, making it far easier to log straight into an account rather than guess.

What Was Exposed in the LeakBase 7Kk ULP Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Homepage URLs (the sites each credential was tied to)

Why This Matters if You Reuse Passwords

Because each password is already matched to the site it belongs to, this log functions as a ready-made toolkit for credential stuffing. Attackers can plug the pairs directly into login pages and, if you reuse passwords across accounts, gain access to email, banking, or shopping accounts far beyond the one originally compromised. That kind of access opens the door to account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud.

How Stealer Logs Like LeakBase 7Kk ULP Are Created

This was not a breach of a single company's database. It came from infostealer malware quietly running on infected computers, silently copying saved logins, autofill data, and browsing details straight out of the browser. Criminals harvest these logs from many infected machines at once, bundle the results into files like this one, and post them for sale or free distribution on hacking forums. That is why the credentials here span many unrelated websites rather than one service.
