HEROIC DarkHive tracked a breach of Youth+, a Vietnamese community and information site for young users, on 27 November 2024. The database compromise exposed 19,927 user records containing email addresses, usernames, first and last names, phone numbers, and bcrypt hashed passwords.

Why This Youth Platform Breach Is Dangerous

Youth oriented sites collect contact data from an especially vulnerable audience. When attackers obtain verified emails and phone numbers for teens and young adults, they can run job scams, investment cons, and romance fraud that are tuned to the demographic and often slip past parental awareness.

What Was Exposed in Youth+

The 19,927 records include email address, username, first name, last name, phone number, and bcrypt password hash. Bcrypt is a strong choice for storage, but reused or short passwords can still be cracked offline, and the non password fields alone fuel targeted social engineering.

Why This Matters

Vietnam runs a highly connected mobile economy where a phone number functions as a de facto identity across banking, ride share, and messaging apps. A leaked list of 19,927 verified numbers tied to real names becomes a ready made target pool for SIM swap and OTP theft attacks.

How Database Breaches Happen

Community platforms in the region commonly rely on older CMS installations, third party plugins, and shared hosting. An exposed admin panel or an infostealer hit on a developer laptop is enough to give attackers the database credentials needed to dump the entire user table.

Check If You Are Affected

HEROIC monitors over 400 billion compromised records across the surface, deep, and dark web. Run a free scan to see whether your email appears in the Youth+ leak, then reset any reused password, enable multi factor authentication, and stay alert to unexpected Zalo, SMS, or email messages referencing the platform.
