2,004 bcm.edu Records Exposed Since a June 10, 2026 Telegram Upload

Since June 10, 2026, a stealer log containing 2,004 bcm.edu records has been sitting on Telegram, freely available to anyone who found the channel. HEROIC analysts have since confirmed the file pairs email addresses with plaintext passwords and the URLs where those passwords were used.

Why the Wait Makes This bcm.edu Leak Worse

Every day this data remains circulating, more people can download and use it. Because the passwords are stored in plaintext, there's no delay for cracking; anyone who grabs the file can try logging in with these credentials right away, and the longer it sits out there, the more attackers have had the chance to do exactly that.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the sites where the credentials were used

Why This Matters

The longer stolen credentials circulate, the more likely they are to be tested through credential stuffing against other accounts. If anyone among these 2,004 bcm.edu records reused their password elsewhere, the risk of account takeover, and the identity theft or fraud that can follow, only grows the longer this goes unaddressed.

How This Stealer Log Ended Up on Telegram

Stealer logs originate from infostealer malware that infects a device, usually through a cracked program or malicious download, and silently copies saved browser passwords and autofill data. The stolen data is packaged into a log file and distributed, often through Telegram channels where it can sit and spread for weeks or months, exactly as happened here.
