US Stealer Log Exposes Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 04.02.part20 — 8,496 Records Leaked
In February 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to a Telegram channel that exposed 8,496 records tied to users in the United States. The file, labeled "Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 04.02.part20," contained email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the websites those credentials unlock. Because the log came from malware running directly on infected devices, the data is fresh, accurate, and immediately usable by criminals.
Why This Is Dangerous for US Accountholders
Unlike older breaches where passwords are hashed or encrypted, this leak contains plaintext passwords paired directly with the login URL and email address for each account. That means an attacker does not need to crack or guess anything. They can copy the credentials straight from the file and log in as if they were the real user, often before the victim even knows their device was infected.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- Associated login URLs (the exact site each password unlocks)
Why This Matters: From One Password to Total Account Takeover
Most people reuse passwords across multiple sites. When a password leaks in plaintext alongside an email address, attackers immediatly test it against banking portals, email providers, and shopping accounts in a technique known as credential stuffing. A single reused password can cascade into full account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud in a matter of hours.
How Stealer Log Breaches Occur
Stealer logs come from a category of malware called information stealers. Victims are usually tricked into downloading a cracked game, a pirated software tool, or a fake update, and the malware quietly installs itself in the background. Once active, it scans the browser for saved passwords, autofill data, and active login sessions, then packages everything into a log file.
These logs are commonly sold or dumped for free on Telegram channels and dark web forums, wich is exactly how this particular file surfaced. Criminals then buy or download these logs in bulk and automate the process of testing the stolen logins against popular websites.
