fb3 Stealer Log Uploaded to Telegram

HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log labeled fb3, uploaded to a Telegram channel and dated to 26 April 2024. The file contains 9,400 records pulled directly from infected devices, pairing email addresses and plaintext passwords with the URLs of the accounts they belong to. Rather than coming from a single hacked company, this data spans whatever accounts happened to be saved in each victim's browser, a mix of everyday logins across different sites and services.

Why This Stealer Log Is Dangerous

Because fb3 links each password directly to the site it opens, attackers don't need to figure out where a stolen credential works, they already know. That turns 9,400 raw records into 9,400 ready-made login attempts. An attacker only has to run through the list to find which accounts are still active, giving them instant access without cracking or guessing a single password.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses tied to individual accounts
  • Plaintext passwords for those accounts
  • URLs showing exactly which sites the credentials belong to

Why This Matters

The clearest risk from fb3 is account takeover, since the data hands attackers everything needed to log in directly. Credential stuffing is the risk that spreads beyond the original accounts: since many people use the same password on multiple sites, a login exposed in this log could just as easily unlock a person's email, banking, or shopping account elsewhere, well beyond wherever the credential was originally stolen from.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs come from malware that infects a device, often hidden inside pirated software, a fake update, or a malicious attachment, and then silently harvests saved passwords and autofill data from the browser. The malware sorts this stolen information by website before bundling it into a single file, which is then shared or sold, in this case uploaded to a Telegram channel where anyone could pick it up.
