HEROIC analysts traced a stealer log called GODELESS CLOUD back to a Telegram upload on January 29, 2024. The file contains 6,949 stolen login records, pairing email addresses with plaintext passwords and the exact URLs those credentials open.

How the GODELESS CLOUD Leak Actually Happened

This breach did not start with hackers breaking into a company's servers. Instead, it began on individual computers, one at a time. Victims unknowingly installed stealer malware, often hidden inside a cracked program, a pirated game, or a fake software update. Once running, the malware quietly copied every password saved in the browser and sent it straight to the attacker.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated login URLs

Why This Matters

Because the malware grabbed passwords in plaintext along with the exact site each one unlocks, attackers can log in immediately with no extra effort. If any of the 6,949 victims reused a password elsewhere, credential stuffing tools let criminals test that same password against email, banking, and shopping accounts, quickly leading to account takeover, identitiy theft, or financial fraud.

Why Stealer Logs Spread So Fast

Once the malware collects its haul, the attacker bundles the stolen data into a single log file and uploads it to marketplaces or Telegram channels like the one behind GODELESS CLOUD. From there, other criminals can buy or download the file and begin testing logins within hours, long before most victims even realize their computer was infected.
