Inside the Bugatti Cloud Part 17 Stealer Log: 9,760 Passwords Exposed
HEROIC's DarkHive team identified a stealer log file, labeled Bugatti Cloud Part 17, uploaded to Telegram on May 31, 2024. The log exposed 9,760 records belonging to accounts in the United States, each containing an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the site that password was tied to.
Why the Bugatti Cloud Part 17 Leak Is Dangerous
Every credential in this file was stored in plain, readable text rather than encrypted or hashed. That means an attacker needs no special tools or technical skill to use it. The email, password, and web address for each of the 9,760 records can be tried on the spot, making this file immediately usable for account takeover attempts.
What Was Exposed in Bugatti Cloud Part 17
- 9,760 compromised account records
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs identifying the targeted services
Why This Matters for These 9,760 Accounts
This is the largest of several Bugatti Cloud log files HEROIC has tracked, and its size makes it especially attractive for credential stuffing campaigns that test stolen logins against banking sites, email providers, and shopping accounts. Anyone who reused a password from one of these accounts elsewhere faces a real risk of having other accounts compromised too.
How a Stealer Log Like Bugatti Cloud Part 17 Gets Built
Stealer logs are the output of infostealer malware, which typically infects a device through a phishing email, a fake software crack, or a malicious ad. Once installed, it scans the browser for saved logins, cookies, and autofill data, then exfiltrates that information to the attacker. The stolen data is compiled into a log file and distributed on Telegram, where it can be downloaded by anyone with access to the channel.
