HEROIC's security researchers identified the LEAK 02.01 - 300 PCS stealer log on February 2, 2023. The file was uploaded to a public Telegram channel by an anonymous user and contained 4,887 records. Each record included an email address, a plaintext password, and associated URLs harvested from compromised endpoints. This log is a direct output of infostealer malware, which silently captures credentials from infected devices and distributes them to cybercriminals through Telegram channels.

Why the LEAK 02.01 300 PCS Breach Is Dangerous

What Was Exposed in This Stealer Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs (targeted endpoints and services)

Why This LEAK 02.01 Data Puts You at Risk

With 4,887 plaintext passwords freely available on Telegram, criminals can immediately attempt to log in to the accounts listed in this dump. The URLs included in the log pinpoint which services were targeted, giving attackers a ready-made list of high-value accounts to try first. Password reuse is the biggest amplifier: a single exposed credential can unlock multiple accounts across email, banking, shopping, and social media if the same password is used across platforms.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware is commonly distributed through phishing emails, trojanized software, and malicious browser extensions. Once installed, it captures credentials stored in browsers, harvests session cookies, and extracts saved passwords. This data is bundled into a log file and sent to a Telegram channel or dark web marketplace, where it is shared freely or sold to other criminals for use in account takeover campaigns and further fraud.
