Researchers Link the LuffichCloud Log to 11,548 Stolen US Credentials
In May 2023, the LuffichCloud stealer log appeared on Telegram without fanfare, uploaded by an anonymous user. HEROIC analysts detected the file in the channel and found 11,548 records inside, each containing an email address, a plaintext password, and the login URL for the site where that credential was in use. The data came from compromised endpoints in the United States. Many victims likely never recieve any notification that their credentials had been captured and shared.
Why This Is Dangerous
This is not a case of a company's server being hacked and a database being dumped. LuffichCloud is a stealer log, meaning the data was collected by malware installed on individual devices.
