HEROIC analysts identified the Qiannao breach while monitoring credential aggregation activity tied to Chinese cloud platform datasets. In January 2012, Qiannao, a Chinese cloud computing service, was breached and 642,697 user records were exposed. The stolen data included email addresses, usernames, and plaintext passwords that continue to circulate in credential stuffing lists over a decade later.
