In March 2026, HEROIC discovered a stealer log file titled Moodle_VULNRCE circulating on Telegram. The file contains 1 record—a single email address, plaintext password, and URL combination. That one exposed credential is enough for an attacker to access the associated account immediately, and if the password is reused, the damage could spread across the victim's entire online presence.

Your Password Is Fully Readable

The password in this dump is not encrypted, hashed, or protected in any way. It sits in the file as readable text—the exact characters the account holder typed. Any person who views the Moodle_VULNRCE file can see this password and use it instantly. There are no barriers, no decryption steps, and no time delay between exposure and exploitation.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Address — the login identifier for the compromised account
  • Plaintext Password — the actual password in fully readable form
  • URL — the Moodle-based platform where this credential was harvested

Why One Leaked Password Should Alarm You

Attackers use credential stuffing to multiply the impact of every stolen login. This single credential from Moodle_VULNRCE will be tested against email services, financial institutions, e-commerce sites, and corporate applications. If the victim used the same password on any other platform, the attacker gains entry to those accounts too—turning one compromised Moodle login into a full-scale identity takeover.

The Malware That Stole This Credential

Moodle_VULNRCE is a stealer log created by infostealer malware. This type of malware infiltrates devices through deceptive downloads, phishing campaigns, or exploit kits. Once active, it extracts saved passwords from browsers, scrapes autofill fields, and captures credentials from installed applications. The stolen data is organized by target platform and uploaded to Telegram, where it becomes accessible to any threat actor willing to look for it.
